Matthew Thonen is a Kansas-based oil paint artist whose works of illustrative landscapes, houses, characters, and scenes are whimsical conceptions drawn from everyday personal expression and imagination. His work often evokes a surreal essence of expressionism, drawing viewers into a playful, dreamlike world where the ordinary takes on a touch of the absurd.
